Stam constructed the prototype of a cantilever chair from welded gas tubes in 1926. With this model of a chair without back legs, he showed his designs to colleague Mies van der Rohe, who in turn inspired him to create his own versions of similar chair models.
Mart Stam's classic chair can be ordered in different leather colors, made in sturdy cow leather (also called saddle leather), as well as pony fur. The selection is simple and clear via the design in the pull down menu.
- Seat and backrest in core leather or pony skin
- Tubular steel frame high gloss chrome plated
- Welded closure of tube ends
- Hand polished and later high-gloss chrome plated. (No ABS plastic caps!). This quality feature clearly stands out from the mass of cheap products. 
Included in the delivery are plastic glides. For sensitive floors, use of felt glides is recommended. (Not included in the delivery).
